HOW TO GET USABLE PHOTOS For standard pricing, photographs must be at least 3" x 5" for prints. If you are taking digital pictures, set the camera for the highest resolution that it's capable of taking. To insure a great portrait, use plenty of light and make your subject take up most of the picture space. Focus on the eyes, always the eyes and if your camera has manual focus use it and focus on the eyes. Did I mention that you should focus on the eyes? Your subjects should be in focus and show detail around the eyes. If you can't determine the color of the eyes then neither can I. An out of focus photo is unusable! If possible use a tripod. The next best thing is to rest the camera against a tree or on a friends shoulder. |
Portraits & Fine Art |
Larger photos and higher resolution pictures allow me to see greater detail producing
a better portrait. And, just in case you are scanning your photos, DO
NOT accept the default resolution of 96 dpi. Instead, set the scan resolution
to 300 dpi. Yes, it makes for a big file, but the increased resolution
is well worth it. You can then choose "Image Upload" to send the picture directly
to me. Please drop me an email with the file name so that I know
which is yours. ** The Kodak website ** has excellent information about taking portrait photos. A few minutes reading this info will help you get that picture exactly like you want. |
